Weapons is an American horror and mystery film set in 2025, written and directed by Zach Cregger. It stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Cary Christopher, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan. It was released in the United States by Warner Bros. Pictures on August 8, 2025.

PLOT

The story begins when an elementary school teacher named Justine Gandy enters her classroom. Surprisingly, seventeen students are absent that day, leaving only one child, Alex Lilly. A few days later, the seventeen absent students are reported to have mysteriously disappeared. This incident sparks a massive protest at the school, forcing Justine to take a leave of absence to calm the situation.

Feeling guilty and eager to find the truth, Justine begins searching for clues to her students' disappearances. She becomes suspicious of Alex Lilly, who often exhibits strange behavior, such as talking as if she were still with her friends. Curious, Justine secretly follows Alex to his home.

In her investigation, Justine meets Archer Graff, the parent of one of the missing students. The two decide to enter the Lilly family home. Inside, they discover something strange: Alex's parents stand frozen like living statues, as if controlled by an unseen entity.

Tension mounts when Justine and Archer discover a basement that holds a terrifying secret: the seventeen missing students are there, also frozen. At that moment, Gladys, Alex Lilly's aunt, appeared, and it turned out to be the mastermind behind all the events. Using black magic, Gladys held the children captive as a source of her supernatural powers.

Gladys performed a ritual in her shrine room, scattering a circle of salt as protection, and ordering Alex's controlled parents to stand guard. However, Alex accidentally stepped on the circle of salt, prompting his parents to suddenly attack him.

In his panic, Alex realized the workings of Gladys' black magic. With courage, he turned the power against his aunt. Ultimately, Gladys was destroyed by the rage of the spirits and the bodies of the seventeen children who had been freed from her influence.
